All-time pieces of clothes

So many men, so many minds. Some men like going shopping and others hate this procedure. They prefer buying several things at a time and forget about shops at least for half a year! Perhaps, for those, who find it a real torture to go shopping, I decided to name several things which you are sure to have in your wardrobe. Thus, when you next time make up your mind to go shopping, mind the things you still have to buy.

White dress shirt. It is a real must for every wardrobe! It is classic and at the same time can be paired almost with everything. Pair it with jeans for a crisp and clean all-American look that works day and night. At the office, layer this shirt underneath a brightly colored sweater and team it with some dress pants or jeans, depending on the dress code. For a smart, casual occasion, add either your navy or gray blazer, and for an occasion that requires something dressier, wear this piece with a navy suit and have fun playing around with the color of your tie.

Polo shirt. Not every day you have to wear a suit and a white dress shirt, of course. At the weekends or some other occasions you can easily wear a polo shirt paired with blue jeans.

Jeans. It is desirable that you should own several pairs of jeans that fit you perfectly well. In this case you’ll be able to create different ensembles, pairing these jeans with different shirts and pullovers.

Cashmere sweater. You simply cannot go without a nice warm V-neck cashmere sweater. If you can, spend a bit more on this piece, but if you can’t, don’t worry since plenty of companies make great ones with affordable price tags.

Classic coat. A peacoat in a color like black or camel is another item that’s a must when it comes to building a functional wardrobe with only a few pieces. A word to the wise: When searching for a peacoat, do try to buy it on sale because you can get some incredible steals that way. And although you’ll own it forever, this piece isn’t one you need to splurge on.

Jacket. A nice jacket is an integral part of your wardrobe as well. At the office, wear it with jeans and a white dress shirt and simply add some edgy sneakers when you’re going out at night. It is really versatile, and you don’t have to think much if you need to look cute and stylish!

Navy suit. A man cannot do without a suit. If you have a nice qualitative navy suit, you can pair it with different other pieces of clothes and thus, wear it at different time of the day.

Do not be too strict to this article. What I meant writing it is that I hope that this information will be of good avail for those men, who are not quite sure what and how to wear. If you consider yourself to be a real connoisseur of fashion, check yourself and see whether your wardrobe has these necessary all-time things. In any case, you need this information, don’t you?

A Fashion Victim – what is it?

Generally speaking, a fashion victim is a word combination that may be understood differently, referring to different people. In any case, to be a fashion victim is rather unpleasant, moreover, it is more unpleasant to fail to understand, why these words are referred to you. To know what to expect and how to react in case this terrible thing did happen, consider the following information and several definitions of “a fashion victim”.

So, according to one of definitions, a fashion victim is a person who is unable to identify commonly recognised boundaries... I would call it “a person deprived of taste”. I have already said several times, that it is not enough only to know what is in fashion now, it is more important to use this knowledge in a right way. But about it later, taking into account other definitions…

The terms "fashionista" or “fashion victim” refer to someone who slavishly follows the current fashions (implementations of fashion). Actually, almost the same meaning as in the first variant, isn’t it? Here we can also refer a mark of a fashion victim - this is someone who wears more than, say, four trends at a time. I cannot even imagine this bright combination!!!

If we combine these definitions, we’ll get a person who tries to look his best, takes into account all modern tendencies and buys all that is fashionable at the moment. But unfortunately, he cannot combine all these things, and in the end, looks ridiculous and rather odd. We’ve got quite a bad description, seems to me. A fashion victim is likely to buy a very expensive suit only because he was told that it was the latest fashion this season. He won’t even pay attention to the “details”, such too long sleeves or inappropriate size. The most important thing for him is that he’s got what he wanted!!!

I believe, it is more or less clear what is what is who is who. Now, if you don’t like to be a fashion victim, you can first of all read the information of this blog and besides, follow these tips:

Always remain yourself! The goal is not in the kind of clothes you wear, but in the way, how you do it!!! There should always be a balance of fashionable and personal, of social and intimate, you should try to stand out from the herd, but not due to your parti-coloured clothes, but due to your sense of taste and sense of harmony. And don’t say, you don’t have these senses. They, as all the rest, may and should be trained!

Try not to overdo! The less the better. Do not try to wear all trendy things you have at a time! You may have one or two and skillfully match them creating different ensembles.

Moreover, do not follow the fashion of celebrities blindly! It is true to say, that celebrities and models often overdo trends for attention, and their flashy attire will likely not translate well for you, in the real world. Before buying a designer thing, try to be honest with yourself: would you buy these jeans if they didn’t have a designer mark on the pocket? If “no”, than “no” and you can find something to your taste later.

To crown it all, I wish you good luck and only positive opinions of your style and image!

Getting ready for Spring 2008

Speaking about general fashion tendencies for Spring-Summer 2008, it’s worth mentioning, that such colors as pink and orange will dominate as demonstrated by Calvin Klein collection.

· Fresh from the runways of Paris and Milan, muted orange is teemed cleverly with pastel pinks;
· Safer, more classic colors of caramel and olive keep the look neutral for trousers and shorts;
· Classic black is shiny this year and black and silver gray color-blocked ensembles feature heavily for spring, provided they are in lightweight fabrics. White is still universally chic.

According to numerous designer approaches, leather will also have its goal this season. But it is to be noted that this style is not for everyone and is a throwback to the punk rocker days of the '70s, with many zipped features.

As for shirts and pants, fitted and sheer shirts are in, along with bold button-down shirts in contrasting patterns. Light mauves and blues add soft detail to the hardest lines. Baggier, looser fitting trousers (Mike Hammer style) are a keynote style along with wide-legged and wrap-around pants. Moreover, many fashion designers have incorporated short-shorts into their business suits. This spring we’ll be able to observe the mixture of a businessman and a little boy.

Regarding accessories, remember, that bags for the season include bus or satchel-type. Prada’s school satchel style comes in black, green and burgundy, whereas Bottega Venetta showcases creamy white. Avoid the herringbone and put away the houndstooth, but plaid is here to stay. Plaid accessories are big for Spring 2008, be they belts, shoes or flat caps. Bow ties are this year’s novel accessory.

Together with knowing all these modern trends, try not to forget about your own style, which makes you different. Do not overindulge in fashion if you don’t feel like wearing this or that thing. It is not enough to know what is in fashion and wear this thing. It is more important to correspond to what you wear. If you can’t imagine yourself wearing shorts at work, do not do that, otherwise you’ll lose something of your individuality. Besides, if you don’t consider pink t be your color, keep to those colors you are used to wearing. At the same time remember, that while trying something new, you penetrate unknown realms and, who knows, probably, these realms are exactly what you have been looking for…

Dressiness and Casualness of Sports Jackets

If the classic business clothes seem too dull for you, you may use some alternatives (if allowed) of the so called “business casual”. For instance, sports jackets have recently become very popular due to their versatility and design approach.

First of all, sport coats are not meant to be worn with a pair matching pants in terms of fabric. It allows mixture of the jacket with other types of pants.

Another reason for the sports jackets’ popularity is that the details, silhouette, and cutting are generally more relaxed and break from the traditions found in suit jackets. You can hardly find suit jackets with elbow patches and metal buttons. But with sports jackets you are allowed to add more freedom to your image.

More than that, the fabrics available among sport coats are a lot more versatile because it can incorporate more sporty patterns or even take up woolly and thin weaved fabrics. Some examples would be houndstooth, tweed, linen and cotton fabrics. If you have already dealt with spots jackets and these fabrics, you might have noticed that they look more casual from the traditionally defined finishing and formal worsted wool suit jackets.

It is also worth mentioning, that sports jackets may be combined almost with any piece of clothes, from a sweater to a T-shirt without looking out of place. Thus, you may safely buy a sports jacket and throw some new light on your image!

Sexy Men’s Underwear???

Unfortunately, a little attention is paid to men’s underwear. It may sound like men do not want to look sexy and attractive. Far from it, and to prove it, here are some examples of sexy Italian-made men’s underwear. Not only your partner can seduce you – you can and you should do it as well!

This model is very comfortable and won’t cause any inconvenience. They're 95% cotton and 5% spandex. Moreover they gently cup the undercarriage and create a lean, sleek line that is very sexy. This model is Gianfranco Ferre style.

What about choosing this boxer-brief from Roberto Cavalli? It is 95% cotton and 5% elastane. The eye-catching pattern on this model will really become the cream of the show! In general, this model is almost unnoticeable – it becomes part of you and you feel at ease!

These cotton briefs are suggested by Gucci. The form is classic, but at the same time it allows to emphasize the male’s form. You may wear this model under jeans, suits or regular casual shorts. They're a versatile piece that's sexy and stunning.

At last, have a look at this basic gray boxer from Versace. Probably, it is the most comfortable, because it is 100% cotton, you’ll hardly find something more convenient and natural. The white detail provides a great contrast to the dark gray color of the piece.

Here are only some models, but it is clear that men’s underwear may also be sexy, practical and durable. Make your choice and change something in your life :-) .

Your office wear: what you understand by “casual”

Do you always know what is appropriate and what is not quite acceptable for the office wear? Even if your office wear is known as Casual – there is difference between casuals, depending on what you add to this notion. And according to this, each of us may have his own understanding of casual. In order to avoid ambivalence in this matter, you’d better define for yourself, what clothes you wear at the office. Here are some tips for you not to be confused.

At the office give preference to more classic style, avoid unnecessary sports attire and colored things. For instance, t-shirts with text across the front or back will do all right for the holiday and week-end, but not for a working day.

Do not overindulge in wearing cargo pants either. I know that they are practical, and it is not always easy to leave them at home instead of wearing them to work. But mind, you are working at an office and a suitcase will be more appropriate here. Unless you are not interested in your career and tries to use any chance to spoil the whole impression of you, go ahead!

Even if it is hot summer, it doesn’t mean you may wear shorts to work! Never! Nobody will be glad to see your hairy legs just because you are too hot in trousers. If you too warm in cotton or topical weight, wool trousers, try a linen pant, but not short, I beg of you…

Try to keep in mind (at least during the working week) that you are a serious adult, who works for a serious company and does important work. If you have realized it, you will hardly wear a sports cap or a company golf shirt to work. Nobody makes you forget about your hobbies and interests, just remember that work is work and spare time may be dedicated to what you like and what you want (sure thing, wearing what you want)! If you don’t agree, think what you would do if you were boss? Sure, you’d want all your employees not only do their work in a good way, but also look their best. As they say, clothes count for first impression…

Fashion over 40

Once one of my acquaintances said, “I thought I wouldn’t be interested in fashion when I am 40, but I am!” No wonder! Life doesn’t finish at 40 and at 50, moreover, men get their second wind at this age; thus, want to look their best in order to attract the opposite sex’s attention. However, they shouldn’t forget about their age and the way they look. Fashion has also its age and both, men and fashion should work in close coordination.

A man of this age is sure to have special charm and style, so don’t try to look young – you are risking to look really ridiculous, as if you have borrowed your son’s clothes. Keep to classic – it is always fashionable and will only emphasize your noble style and age!

Consider what colors you choose. It is still important that the colors you choose should suit you; see to it, that they are still flattering.

If you are 40, but feel that you still have an excellent body, do not hide it, but at the same time show it differently, you did it when you were 20 or 30. For instance, if you have a six-pack and a great butt, you should avoid wearing low cut and tight fitting jeans you might have worn earlier. Still, you can wear flattering, stylish jeans and t-shirts, but just differently.

If you are at a loss and need advice, go to a good man’s shop, try different things on to see what really suits you and do not be ashamed of asking for advice. A good salesperson is sure to help you.

Do not be afraid of changes in your life! If you used to wear suits, give now more preference to casual style and try to feel at ease wearing driving moccasins. You’ll see that it is really convenient and suits you perfectly well!
